Craft:

5 Monkeys Jumping on the Bed craft! I added a stick to the bed so the kids could hold it and make the monkeys jump up and down easier. I also typed out the first verse, cut it out and had them glue it to the bed http://abeecpreschool.blogspot.com/2012/06/5-monkeys-jumping-on-bed.html https://www.pinterest.com/pin/454722893604864324/

Notes:

I introduce the story time and do the welcome song.

We do rhythm stick songs (usually 3 different ones each week)

I read 3 books with songs, fingerplays or movement activities in between each one

Parachute play, closing song and a craft!

.

Other:

Blanket guessing game.  I cut out different colors of a blanket shape.  The kids guessed the correct color (which I held up) as I said the rhyme.

I once had a blanket, at the foot of my bed.  I once had a blanket, and its color was ___! (red)

I once had a blanket, it was snug and tight.  I once had a blanket, and its color was _____! (white)

I once had a blanket, soft as a pillow. I once had a blanket, and its color was ______! (yellow)

I once had a blanket, the prettiest I’ve ever seen.   I once had a blanket, and its color was _____! (green)
