Wiggly worms

These critters have an important role in our environment. One important thing that earthworms do is to plow the soil by tunneling through it. Earthworms dig large  burrows which let water and air into the soil, and that's important because microorganisms and plant roots need air and water just like we do.The soil they swallow passes though the worm's body and is left in little piles on top of the ground and is excellent fertilizer.
