Beginner Mandarin Class When: Thursday, January 17, 2019 - 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

This class will be presented by Chinese for Everyone as they celebrate the Chinese New Year and teach about the year of the pig. This program is geared for ages 5-12. A free ticket is required and can be picked up at the children's information desk 15 minutes prior to the program. Children must be present to receive tickets.
Beginning Bookworms When: Thursday, January 17, 2019 - 11:00 AM - 11:50 AM

Beginning Bookworms is a special storytime for children 18-24 months who are ready for a slightly more active experience. We develop early-literacy skills by enjoying a variety of stories, sing-alongs, movement, and play. Registration is not required for this program.

Note: For safety reasons, this program is intended only for children 18-24 months. We ask that families with siblings older than 24 months attend our Rock-a-Bye Readers (Family Storytime), Twilight Tales (Family Storytime), or a storytime program for the older child.
Bilingual Storytime When: Thursday, January 17, 2019 - 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

This program is recommended for children ages 3 to 6 years old. It includes a combination of stories, finger plays, and songs in Spanish and English.

Texas children in 3rd-6th grade get to vote for their favorite Texas Bluebonnet book in January. Join us each week in January for a fun talk about an assortment of the 2018-19 Texas Bluebonnet books. This program is recommended for children 8-12 years old. Tickets will be given out at 4:00 pm.

Calling all Riverdale fans. Veronica? Betty? Who is your favorite? Who will win? Come to the Teen Room anytime between January 7 – January 19 to pick up a button that will cast your vote!

What is a button battle? It’s where teens vote on two or more of their favorite fandoms by taking a button they can pin to a backpack or anything else. The fandom that has the most buttons taken (aka “votes”), they are the one that wins!
